103rd Cactus Division

John A.Blaskiewicz
Sergeant in L Company of the 410th Infantry

My father was in the 103rd division for the last six months of the war. His name is John A.
Blaskiewicz. He was a sergeant in L Company of the 410th Infantry. He was from
Saint Louis, Missouri and was born on 11-30-24. He was assigned to the 103rd in November
of 1944 as a replacement, according to my mother. He stayed with the 103rd until the end of
the war. After the war he returned to Saint Louis, worked as a machinist and eventually owned
a machine shop of some 40 employees. He died in 1974.  I am one of two sons and a
daughter. My mother lives here in Saint Louis and has been in touch with some of the members
of his original unit, the 75th division. I have a copy of the division history, but it is difficult to
follow the course of my father's unit through the war. I would be most appreciative of
any guidance on obtaining additional information. At some point in time I plan
to try and retrace his steps through Europe. Thank you in advance for any help
you might provide.
