Linn Campbell

"Private Linn A. Campbell, 16105884, Medical Department, Medical Detachment, 409th Infantry Regiment. For heroism in action. During the night of 16 November 1944 and the daylight hours of 17 November 1944, in the vicinity of ***, France, Private Campbell, medical aid man attached to Company 'H", worked valiantly and tirelessly in adminstering first aid to the wounded. In one instance he observed three aid men shot down by enemy sniper fire while attempting to give aid to the wounded. With utter disregard for his life, and fully cognizant of the impending danger, he dashed forward under intese fire, reached the men and adminstered medical aid. As a result of Private Campbell's outstanding valor the lives of several men were undoubtedly saved. Residence: Saginaw, Michigan."
