C. Kenneth Crocker

First Lt. C. Kenneth Crocker  ( I served under the adopted name of Kenneth Crocker Thorsness) 
I joined the 384th as a replacement in January 1945 as Asst Ex O.  Had taken a 40/8 from LaHavre to
Epinal, then by truck or jeep to Kindwiller.  The Winter Line.  Served as Forward Observer.   Wounded on
21 March and then to the 36th General Hospital in Dijon.  Rejoined the outfit in May in Innsbruck.  Some
might remember me as running the rest camp up in the Brenner Pass at Obernbergersee. Occupation near Munich,
then on to Camp Lucky Strike.  We were the 45th Inf then.  Home on the Marine Panther.

After discharge, went back to the University of Illinois, where I got my masters in Microbiology.  A stint 
with Oscar Mayer, Diversey Corp in Chicago, then on to the United States Testing Company in Hoboken. 
Ended up with Campbell Soup Company in Camden, NJ for almost 30 years.
